Guide
1/ To the usual suffering common to every creature (chaps. 6-7), Rome is now in for some specific troubles, as revealed in each of the seven trumpets of the seventh seal. How can you determine from 8: 1-5 that such woes were in answer to the prayers of the saints by a God who cares?
2/ What are the indications in chapters 8-9 that the final destruction of Emperial Rome is not reviewed but rather only mounting, external attacks that will then lead to the end of Rome and the threat to Christians?
3/ Each Trumpet announced a calamity affecting some object. Match the trumpet on the left with its corresponding calamity on the right.

Re-read chapters 8-9, getting involved in the exciting description of God's vindication of His saints against evil. What comfort, what assurance do you feel about the God who cares?
6/ Is there any possible meaning in the use of "Abaddon" or "Apollyon" in 9, 11 a nd the mention that destruction would have to come from the direction of the "Euphrates." (v.14).
