Directions: The Following statements refer to opinions regarding a number of issues, about which some people agree and others disagree. Please mark each statement in the right hand margin according to your agreement or disagreement, as follows:

+1 - slight support, agree -1 slight opposition,disagree

+2 - moderate support, agree -2, moderate opposition, disagree

+3 - strong support, agree -3, strong opposition, disagreement



1 Obedience and respect for authority are the most important virtues children ought to learn?
2 No weakness or difficulty can hold us back if we have the will power.

A. A General Introduction.

This instrument attempts to obtain a valid estimate of antidemocratic tendencies at the personality level. The variables which make up the basic content of the F scale are listed below with a brief definition in some areas.

1. Conventionalism - rigid adherence to conventional and middle class values.

2. Authoritarian submission - submissive uncritical attitude toward idealized moral authorities of the In-group.

3. Authoritarian aggression - tendency to be on the lookout for and to condemn, reject, and punish people who violate conventional values.

4. Anti-intraception - opposition to the subjective and imaginative and the tender minded.

5. Superstition an stereotyping.

6. Power and "toughness"

7. Destructiveness and cynicism.

8. Projectivity - the disposition to believe that wild and dangerous things go on in the world; the projection outwards of unconscious emotional impulses.

9. Sex-exaggerated concern with sexual "goings-on"

Interpretation

In analyzing scores on this scale, lower percentile or higher raw scores would indicate strong antidemocratic tendencies. Higher percentile or low raw scores reveal strong opposition to antidemocratic tendencies.
